Welcome to my practice
It takes great courage to begin counselling therapy. I am glad that you are here.
From first hand experience, I know how hard it is to find a good counsellor and the importance of healing-in-relationship with a trusted therapist. As a counsellor, I bring my whole self to this work. My goal is to honour the dignity of each person, so that you can experience support and encouragement in the specific ways you need as an individual, couple, or family. I work with clients based on a mutual agreement that we are a good fit and a shared commitment to engage with sincerity and trust.
Counselling Services
I offer individual, couples/relationship (2+), and family therapy to adults, youth, and elders who are experiencing anxiety, depression, addiction/substance use, trauma, chronic pain and illness, difficulties in relationships, life transitions, grief and loss, work and career concerns, growth and personal development, among other issues.
My counselling services are collaborative, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed. Specifically, I am client-centred, LGB2STQIA+ affirming and provide neuroaffirmative care. I draw from various theoretical lenses and philosophies including Existential, Adlerian, Internal Family Systems, Jungian, Feminist Theory, Gottman Method Couples Therapy, CBT, DBT, and Attachment-based Therapy. My approach is also rooted in a holistic (body, mind, spirit) and somatic awareness.

What you can expect from me
I believe that every person has the capacity for change. It is the discovery and experience of meaning and purpose in our lives that helps us find and become who we truly are.
In therapy, the work we do together is a dedicated time and space to explore what is holding you back and causing you pain. It can also reveal the courage and joy you currently possess.
Many of us have developed habits that no longer serve us well. Counselling helps us unearth our internal compass, also called our inner intelligence, intuition, or higher self, so that we can relearn how to trust ourselves again. This is important work. It is a privilege to join my clients as they navigate the complexity (and beauty) of life to find their own authentic self-expression and meaningful engagement with the world.
I believe the goal of counselling is not to avoid or “fix” our uncomfortable body sensations, emotions, and thoughts. But to develop our capacity to respond to life’s circumstances and manage the discomfort that lands on our laps. Some call this resiliency. I call it a life well-lived. Our pain, anxiety, sadness, love, and joy all have important information for us. They can reveal what is required of us to heal, grow, and even thrive.
